Testimonials

Acupuncture was the perfect complement to physical therapy

I came to Quan Yin Healing Arts after trying many different treatments for debilitating tension headaches. Acupuncture was the perfect complement to the physical therapy, massage and medication I was using without obtaining much relief. After the first treatment the headache frequency lessened and within several treatments, the headaches were well managed.

I have continued to get acupuncture for almost 4 years for headache relief (they are almost non-existent now) and I have found that acupuncture has allowed me to manage my physical and emotional health beyond my initial reason for seeking out acupuncture. Each time I meet with Karen for a treatment she takes time to listen to my words and evaluate my physical health to personalize the treatment to my individual need that week whether it be to release stress or boost my immunity to combat an oncoming cold.

Additionally, Karen’s compassionate treatment helped me tremendously when I lost my husband (also a patient of Karen’s) to cancer 3 years ago. Her treatments allowed me to quiet my mind and find peace during a time of tremendous grief and sadness. Karen has an amazing ability to combine spirituality within her acupuncture practice which allows for true healing from within.

I have found that acupuncture is consistently one of the best gifts I can give myself to maintain balance, good health and productivity. Karen’s acupuncture knowledge and expertise is unparalleled and I would recommend her to anyone looking to integrate acupuncture into their medical treatment.

I wish I had tried it first

I have been going to Karen at Quan Yin for over three years. I can say that she saved my life (my quality of life). I have suffered from migraines for over 20 years, trying literally every known treatment from medications, seeing a chiropractor, Botox injections you name it very little helped.

As a last hope I tried acupuncture and slowly it helped to the point where I am barely getting one headache every six months now. I wish I had tried it first. I continue to go back for tune ups when I need to. Karen is an extremely professional, caring and talented practitioner. She makes you feel very comfortable.

I highly recommend Karen for your treatment needs.

My orthopedist remarked on my speedy recovery

I want to thank Karen Borla for her excellent work as an acupuncturist. She provided me with effective treatments to my upper torso after having been involved in a car accident. Her awareness of treatment modalities and herbal remedies greatly increased my healing from a situation that would have caused many months of traditional medical care and untold effects on my ability to use my right arm fully.

My orthopedist remarked on my speedy recovery and stated that he was not sure that I was going to regain full use of my arm, which I was able to do with Karen’s intervention. I strongly recommend her for her knowledge, work and ability to connect with people in the most sensitive caring way.

I have found working with Karen extremely helpful

The knuckle of my left thumb had stiffened and had developed calcification as the result of a broken wrist injury. My excellent rheumatologist and equally excellent physical therapist said nothing could be done to eliminate or reduce this calcification which interferes with the oily movement of that small joint.

Consequently all aspects of my very enterprising life are somewhat disabled by the inability of my left hand and specifically my rigid thumb to move freely. I went online to investigate Chinese medicine, particularly acupuncture, for reducing or eliminating calcification in joints. A lot of evidence has reported significant reduction of calcification with acupuncture.

Karen Borla was referred to me by another Chinese medicine professional and a friend who had heard of her.

About ten weeks of acupuncture as well as continuing my exercises were required to see an improvement. After just twelve weeks, my calcification is fifty percent reduced!

As a retired, licensed healthcare professional, I have found working with Karen as her patient extremely helpful, effective, reliable and trustworthy in her competence, consideration, respect and ease of manner. I have full confidence in her ability.

My UnitedHealthcare/Medicare insurance does not cover this service but Karen is very reasonably priced.

I feel deeply thankful for her help within a mere twelve weeks. I continue with her practice.

Karen at Quan Yin Arts is phenomenal

Karen at Quan Yin Arts is phenomenal. I have had TMJ (a jaw disorder that causes pain and headaches) for my whole life. On a daily basis, I was having frequent headaches and pain. With each week of acupuncture, the relief lasted longer and longer. I no longer get headaches and very seldom have painful tightness in the jaw muscle. I will continue to see Karen for preventative acupuncture because the process is so relaxing. I look forward to the treatments!

I could not be happier to have found her practice

Karen is a wonderful expert acupuncturist. I could not be happier to have found her practice. Over the last several years, Karen helped me with a range of painful issues: torn shoulder, shingles, back pain, joint pains and foot injury. It takes a couple of visits sometimes depending on the severity of pain but always gets to a good result. Highly recommend.

Why Choose Quan Yin Healing Arts?

Quite simply, it is my goal that you receive the highest quality care out there.

In the 20 plus years that I have been in practice, I have personally treated every one of the thousands of patients who have come through my door.

This is a highly personal profession and I take the time to get to know you, not just your health issues, so that I can give you the attention and the care that you deserve.

After graduating from one of the best acupuncture programs in the country, I have never stopped learning. Every year I embark on a learning project, whether it is keeping up with new developments in fertility treatments, honing my diagnostic and herbal medicine skills, or learning new needling techniques for treating pain.

Chances are, I have seen your condition before. But if I have not, I will do what I know how to do with Chinese Medicine, and research what the experts have done.

I provide all of this in a warm, compassionate and light-hearted environment, so that you can relax and experience the well being that we are all meant to have.
